I am all over the place at the moment. Torn between spring fever and stitching! Must be that thing in the air. I am itchin for a decorative change in the household. A bit of a cleanse, shift the energy. You know the feeling! So down to the local furniture mart is where I went today.
Honest Charlie's is what we call it. Charlie is the owner of this terrific furniture store and being the only furniture store on the "Island" I like to support his business and he has great stuff. I purchased 2 new lounges and some new furniture for Jack's bedroom. He is such a beanstalk now I can't fit his clothes in the drawers anymore.
He also informed me that he wants to lose all the kids stuff. In his words "I am a teenager now mum so let's lose the toys and the Simpsons doona cover. I just want plain colours" "Just incase I have anyone in my room" I am thinking, well his best friend Michael is here all the time but I think he was thinking you know WINK WINK!! He his having his first crush.
SIGH.....as I hold my heart.......8-)
By gee by jingoes! I'm thinking, he's only 14 but perhaps he's forward planning. YIKES....don't want to go there!! LOL So a re decorating weekend coming up and that's always FUN!!
I'll have to get down and dirty and do some painting as well. Always love spreading some new colour. So now that I have my spring thing decorating urges underway I have progressed quite a bit on my latest project "Wishful thinking".
This quilt seems to be going on foreveeeeeeeeeeeer but I have had a few other projects in between. Now I did say that I was hand stitching but changed my mind on that one as my sewing machine is an apendage at the moment so machine blanket stitch is what I have been doing and lovin' it. My neck would disagree. Here are some more sneeky peeky's.
What's this cheeky gal up too???? Her name is Clarice and I wonder what she is thinking!!
AAAAAAHHHHHHH! Is this her partner in crime???
And of course in true tradition there simply must be a ladybird!! She's the backup plan just incase the flower chickens out at the last minute........do I have you baffled? LOL
After all my waffling on I was just about to sign off and nearly forgot the GIVEAWAY!
For all the book worms out there this will be of great use and if your not a book worm.... what's your excuse. LOL! I have 3 of "The Little Borrower" pattern up for grabs.
Just leave a comment on this post to be in it to win it. I will announce the 3 winners next wednesday evening or there abouts 8-) It would be great to hear all about your favourite book. Fiction, non-fiction, childrens. Whatever you have read and can't put down. Your fellow book worms would be grateful!
My favourite book is "Amityville Horror"....I LOVE horror books and movies.
Well that's it for me for now. Time to make room for the furniture.
So until next time..........
Totally cross eyed “In Stitches” Natalie

Ahh yes the age when we realise our babies are growing up into those scarey teenage years.I have one down and one to go. The current drama is coming from my fifteen year old daughter..one day at a time...count to ten..it will be over soon.If only a coat of paint and a new doona could fix it.In respect to books I always enjoy a good mystery. The new pattern looks very cute.

Cute pattern Natalie! Books? I read anywhere between 60-80 books per year, fiction, non-fiction, biographies you name it. The only genre I do not like is Sci Fi. I love all the Jennifer Chiaverini books about the quilters , Debbie Macomber's books about knitters, and my recent favourite "Dewey" a true story about a kitten that was found in a library shute and lived around 18 years in the library! My other favs are "Year of Wonders" by Geraldine Brooks and "The Mists of Avalon" ( can't remember the author). I love reading about London during the 1800s too.

The sneak peeks are as intriguing as ever.
i tend to like mystery books, but also sci fi & fantasy. The last books I couldn't put down were the twilight books (and I usually hate vampire books) :)

Hi Natalie,
I'm not sure which book is my favorite but I've read all Nora Roberts books and I love them.
I'd love to win the owl bag pattern as I collect owls. My mum started to collect them years ago and when she past away 15 years ago I inherited them and I have kept on collecting.

Hi Natalie, my favourite books are by John Lescroart, they're legal drama/thrillers set in San Francisco, a bit like early John Grisham but I think much better. He can't write them quick enough for me! My most recent read was The Memory Keeper's Daughter written by Kim Edwards As for childhood books, I devoured everything but my all time favourite was Swallows and Amazons by Arthur Ransome.

Hello Natalie, I am reading an historical novel at the moment called Daughter of Silk, all about intrigue in the French Court when Mary Queen of Scots was a young girl. I am not very far into it yet, the first in a trilogy. Your book bag is gorgeous, and I wouldn't read or see a horror book or movie, I am a wimp!!!

great pattern Natalie,
I am probably not the best person to be handing out book reviews, I will read pretty much anything (Except Mills n Boon stuff!!!!)I always feel that it is really good to read a great selection to get a balance. I am currently reading a Wally Lamb novel called "The Hour I First Believed", it is a ficton novel about the Columbine High School shooting. It is a great read so far, and certainly putting a different perspective on the impact of something like this n a community...however I did really enjoy the 'Heidi" series, and "Little Woman" when young.

I remember reading Flowers In The Attic, Petals In The Wind, Seeds of Yesterday etc etc by Virginia Andrews. I don't have time to read now as I stitch, quilt, knit, crochet. I wish I did read. Lots of my friends can't go to sleep without reading first. I want to read Ekhart Tolle's book A New Earth when I can get some quiet time. Love the owl bag. I love owls too. xx Sue

Hi Natalie,
My favourite book is called April Fool's Day by Bryce Courtney. I remember reading the last few pages on the bus on my way to work, I sobbed the whole way and when I got off at my stop I stood there and read the last page with tears streaming down my face. It was a true story about Bryce's son, very heart wrenching and so well written. I should read it again!
