I have been a little blue lately (down right depressed actually) and airing my woes on my blog is not something that I usually like to do but I wanted to do a post and thought I might come across as being a little flat so hence the colour of my text, this is how I am feeling at the moment. ROTTEN!
As you know my son Jack is Autistic and finds school a mammoth struggle. With the return of school last week began the usual up's and down's which has been an ongoing saga since year 1. Things have been intensifying over the years and now that he is 15 and in year 9 it is probably safe to say that it is peaking.
He had a bad day last friday so I downed tools and I made the usual dash to school to collect him and then on Monday he had a major meltdown causing considerable damage and is now off school for a week. The fact that he only schools for 4 1/2 hours a day since going into high school has been very demanding on my time and my sanity. This recent meltdown took the last bit of fight that was left inside me and I no longer have the strength to keep going with this. He will only school to year 10 and a year and a half seems like an eternity. So home schooling may have to be the only way to get through to the end and keep me from ending up in a straight jacket.
Forgive me for venting but thankyou for listening. Last night I needed to find a happy place so Barry and I decided to do a little spring cleaning. For those who have or have had a Rainbow Lorikeet you would know that they take a lot of work to look after. Their personal hygiene habits suck!
They very much enjoy a food fight with themselves and no manners at all when it comes to toileting so Barry and I did the usual spring cleaning of his cage.
1st. Total dismantling, scrubbing and putting back together. This has to be done in the bath with hot water and vinegar!
While I was doing all the hard work Barry watched from the top of my shower screen, very amused of course. Chatting away and talking to himself with his constant "Hello Barry"!!
Stay tuned for more Barry shananigans! "It's the Mad Barry Show".
I hope your day finds you in a happy place.
