Where have I been? This question I am asking myself as I finally surfaced from the knee deep work that I have been doing and it took me quite a while to find the door. I saw a glimpse of light through a crack and managed to drag myself out. Covered in threads, the family could hardly recognise me..... water..water.. I screeched LOL!
Now that I have gained my sanity I have to tell you that I am off to Hobart to teach at the Quilted Crow with Helen Stubbings in the first weekend in May. So I have been busy making my project for the ladies down there. I am also teaching at Evandale in Launceston in July with the lovely Gail Pan. This project is complete. I had to make it ahead of time as Chris who is organising it is going overseas. So I have a small sneek peek for you. Not a lot but just a tease! Sorry ;-)
it's a really cute project and I can't wait for the time that I can show you. With all this secret sewing stuff nearly complete I will be straight into the long list of new designs I have waiting on the table.
One other secret sewing design is for a stitchery club that Under the Mulberry Tree will be kicking off in June. There is a whole bunch of us involved and each month you receive a fully kitted project that has stitchery included. Pop on over to the website for all the details. It will be really exciting and I know there are some really gorgeous designs. So for all you stitchery fanatics what are you waiting for. BRUM BRUM off you go!! LOL
Now with my crazy schedule my housework was somehow not a priority. Hmmmm I soooooooooooo missed it. hehehehehehehe
This weekend just gone was a creatively busy one. First I had to do some much needed cleaning and tidying and to take a small break from my stitching. To help motivate me I saw this gorgeous set to help me and I just HAD to have it. Ain't it Cute.
I also decided that a cleanse and an energy change was urgently required. So off to the hardware shop for some paint. I'm not sure if it's because winter is on the way or what but I wanted to add some POP in my home. I decided to paint a feature wall in my kitchen.
I also bought a new rug for the loungeroom and some new curtains. I spent the whole weekend painting and moving furniture and although I was completely wasted by Monday morn I just love the finished result. I still have to put my new rug down but check out the new paint colour!
It's called Tangerine Gold and what a blast. I painted it on 2 walls. Around the window and continued across onto a wall above my cupboards. Different but groovy I say.
I love the contrast with the soft white and of course my favourite colours of red and aqua. These have been 2 colours that I have had in my home for some years now and I still do not get tired of them. And my wall of inspiration!
My sister also gave me to add to the new look colour my Grandmother's tablecloth. This cloth has been around for.......a long time. 8-) Nan always had it on the kitchen table and I can remember it vivdly. So it's really lovely to have it in my home now. Nan doesn't need it at the nursing hostel but I am sure she would be happy to see it back in action!
So I shall leave it there for now ladies. So until next time......
