Last Thursday we headed down to Sydney to the Royal Easter Show and what a great day we had. I went with my friend Kathy and her son Michael who is Jack's bestest friend. kathy's friend Chris came along also. We all travelled down by train and the boys had a fab time. The weather was sensational as it wasn't too hot which is always a bonus when you go to the show and we picked a day when everyone else decided not to go so there was no lining up for anything!
The boys grabbed a show bag each and it is hard to believe that they only wanted one. My purse was very pleased about that. 8-} There is always so much to see there and we were lucky to catch the precision racing cars and motorcross stunt bikes not long after we arrived. I have heaps of pics of the day but I won't bore you with too many, just some very interesting ones that I think you will enjoy viewing.
After walking around checking out all the activities that were happening we of course just had to go into the Arts and Crafts pavilion to see what our kindred spirits had been up to. I am sorry to say that there was not a great deal of stitched goodies on display and I am not sure why this was as they usually always have a great contribution into the competitions for Patchwork and the like. There was some embroidery and knitting which were beautiful and I had to take a pic of this stunning dress made out of silk......
Everything was hand done, even the little gumnuts. The picture doesn't do it justice. There is a very clever person out there. As I walked around I came across the most SPECTACULAR display of marzipan cakes. I had to look twice at these beauties. I couldn't believe that some of them were cakes. I have quite a few to show but they are so worth it.
LOVE the kitty!
The tiny little details are amazing. This one is so cute. The Bunnies Tea Party!
Who doesn't love a Fairy princess and her castle!
And for all those "WIGGLES" fans out there, here is their house complete with "THE BIG RED CAR".
This is one of my favourites. It is so hard to believe that every single thing on these cakes is edible not that could even think of eating them. I love this tiny bird cage. It is so delicate and the cage is completely made out of marzipan! The mind boggles.............
No this one blew my mind. It doesn't even look like a cake. The details up close of the soldier were....WOW! Just like a statue.
Now I only have a couple more and these last 2 are my absolute favourites.
And this little gal is just soooooooooooooooooo sweet. Meet Lily!
I hope you have enjoyed viewing these wonderful works of Art. I have to tell you that by the end of our day of fun and loooooooooots of walking the boys were feeling like this........
OH What a feeling!!! And us girls were NOT feeling like this......................
This is "Danger woman" AH..HA!....yeah right.....maybe in my next life.................LOL.
I have nearly completed my little addition to my "Lady Birds on Patrol" design and I should be able to show hopefully tomorrow. So until then..............
Oh What a feeling "In Stitches"
