WILD WILD WEEKEND! What a fantastic weekend Kim from Honeysuckle Cottage and myself had down at Glenharrow in the Dandenongs. We were the travelling wilbury's. Kim had to take an hours drive to the airport to then catch a plane to Sydney where we met up after I travelled down to Sydney by train for an hour. We then hopped on the plane to take us to Melbourne airport. We had a groooooovy little Hyundai Getz car waiting for us and continued our journey out to the Dandenongs. Kim was the captain behind the wheel and I was chief navigator.
I cannot believe how smoothly things went for our journey. We were a little concerned about finding our way out of the city in the dark of night, but all went well due to my excellent navigational skills! :-) Until we actually arrived at Belgrave where we were staying. Then something went drastically wrong with my navigational gear and we were lost.
It was 11pm by this stage and I bit the bullet and called Margaret, the lady who was kindly waiting for us at the B & B we were staying at. Margaret said "WHERE ARE YOU GIRLS?" I explained were in town. We were and as it turned out just around the corner. Literally 1 minutes drive to the B & B where we were staying. "Red faces"....Well mine was anyway seeing I was the one telling Kim to go left and right. Our stay was very pleasant and as it turned out Kim and I are the perfect travelling partners. Laughed all the way down and all the way back home. Thanks for a fantastic weekend Kim xxx
The whole of the saturday was spent at the stitch-in with Rosie and Leanne and a whole bunch of friendly fun ladies. We had 2 of the nicest ladies at our table, Viki and her sister Lori. Thanks for the laughs girls!! And at the end of the day Melly popped in to see us as well. Good on ya Mel!
Kim and I had a go at needle punch embroidery which is sooooooo much fun. We didn't get to finish it of course with all the chatting and stuffing our faces with the best food in Victoria. It was scrumdiddlyumptious!!!! We spent the next morning doing a bit of shopping before my navigational skills kicked back in and we were off back to the big city and back on a plane. Kim couldn't resist this opportunity to take this pic seeing my patterns will soon be released through designing diva distributions I look a little worse for wear I have to say. But that's what having a ripper of a weekend does to you!
So Kim and I were back on the plane back to Sydney. After big hugs sadly we went our separate ways, Kim back on another plane and me on a train. We both made it safely home a little worn out but good worn out. If only we could have stayed just 1 more day!! Can't wait for our next trip. We had a BLAAAAAAAAAST!
